Saturday at BMEX was a bit quieter but the enthusiasm from our customers made it an enjoyable day. We showcased pieces from our Wedding Line, our Sparkles line and also some stand alone jewellery pieces and accessories.
Fashion Shows were held every night to showcase the talents of local and regional designers. Saturday night was reserved for the young and talented designers from the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic (SJPP) who showcased their 2015 Garment Technology creations alongside guest designer Hugh Williams of Singh Designs.
Day 1 was all about the kiddies, with children from several of the island's Primary and Secondary Schools in attendance. Of course, the kids came armed with a barrage of questions and comments on the pieces displayed. Their quirky personalities and inquisitive nature made for an interesting and educational time. Needless to say, Day 1 was fun :)
Well folks,it's officially over. Ashlar Designs survived four intense days at BMEX 2015 where we launched our new "Bright Lights" jewellery line and our "Safari" African print accessory line fro Barbados' 2015 Crop Over festival.
Our Bright Lights line is a collection of necklaces, bracelets and earrings made from neon ribbon, fabric and thread. By combining the traditional method of crochet with the use of vibrant neon colours, Ashlar Designs put a modern/trendy twist on an old classic to create its beautiful and eye catching "Bright Lights" jewellery line.
