Ecstatic only begins to sum up how we feel about the overwhelming success of Barbadian born, super star Rihanna in recent months. Though not copping any grammy awards at the most recent staging, Rihanna strutted beautifully on the runway. Only weeks later, she was announced as the 2017 Harvard Humanitarian of the Year. The award was presented to Rihanna for her tireless contribution to causes including education and oncology through her work with the Clara Lionel Foundation. In the presence of faculty and students, some of whom were zealous fans, Rihanna humbly accepted the honor.

This distinguished accolade is presented by Harvard to those individuals they describe as “public-spirited leaders”. In her acceptance speech, Rihanna spoke in a thick Caribbean accent which made Barbadians all around the globe swell with pride. She chatted openly and animatedly about being excited to have “made it to Harvard”, what inspired her to give back and what it truly means to be a humanitarian. Hours later the video of Rihanna’s speech trended and is now one of the most viewed clips on Youtube.

On the heels of that milestone, Rihanna stunned us again with her remarkable fashion forward cover of Paper Magazine for March. Vibrantly clad and modelling some daring hairstyles, Rihanna began teasing her social media audience with stunning behind the scenes shots from the photoshoot. Themed ‘Breaking the Rules’, the cover is a celebration of daring style trends.

Whether as a stunning model gracing magazine covers, or as woman doing only what her grandmother would wish by “sharing a dollar” in her humanitarian initiatives, Rihanna’s grace and style has continued to shine. She truly inspires all to remain true to self while never forgetting to contribute to a bigger purpose.

Tell us what you thought of Rihanna’s award and prestigious Paper Magazine cover!
